Rare Jane Austen Book Collection 1890's
For the true Jane Austen lover. This rare, illustrated collection is a dream come true. I bought it at auction a few years ago and I feel it needs to go to someone who will truly appreciate it for what it is. Not that I don't ~ but I have owned it for a few years and feel it time for someone else to enjoy in the beauty. It is not easy to figure out exactly when this set was published - if I have any collectors out there who know more - please email me. My best guess is the 1890'2 thru 1910.
Without further ado, the collection consists of:
Letters  Vol. I & II
Sense and Sensibility  Vol. I & II
Pride & Prejudice   Vol. I & II
Mansfield Park   Vol. I & II
Emma  Vol. I & II
Lady Susan ~ The Watson's ~ Letters
Northanger Abbey
Full cloth bound set. This is the illustrated cabinet edition set. Dana Estes & Company of Boston publishers. All of the books are in very good condition. One has a slightly loose binding. The cloth and gilded covers are lightly worn as can be expected for its age but only the coloring has faded, the bindings are all good and tight. The gilded Art Nouveau covers are still lovely. All of the illustrations are daisy fresh with the original paper sheets to protect them. Honestly breathtaking colorplates by C.E. and H.M.Brock and dated 1898. The introduction was copy written by Frank S. Holby in 1906.
Please comment to me any questions you may have about this sale. I know it is a large purchase and I want you to be more than in love with it ~ it is Jane Austen after all.
