Where to begin describing this lovely example of antique Blue Willow china; I will start with the story taped to the reverse side: This platter was J.N. Young's won in a raffle when he was 14 years old in Manchester England was born there in 1818 dies 81 years old.
Making this platter at least 180 years old if it was made in the year it was won. It may very well be much older. Therefore, it is not without its knicks and marks. Most are noticeable in the photos. Also, This name is now known as Machin and Potts - notice that it is spelled Pottss on the platter itself.
In perfect condition, this platter had recently sold at auction for over $575USD, however, this platter does have several fractures and discolorations making it slightly less valuable. It is an excellent buy at this price for collectors of Antique Staffordshire and Blue Willow.
This deep platter measures 17w x 14"h.
